He Will be Praised!
Christ will be praised. He accepts praise from the mouths of babes and sucklings. This praise may be imperfect, its source may not be traditional but it is praise none the less and wholly acceptable to the Savior.
Mat 21:16 …Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
Christ must receive praise. Should men praise him he is much pleased but should men not praise him he shall be praised yet. Were the situation be one where no man should praise him the very stones themselves would cry out praise to the Savior. When Christ was hanging on the cross surrounded by Roman soldiers and unbelievers, did not the skies turn dark and the earth shake? The very elements of creation will spring forth in praise to Him. If God can lift up children of Abraham out of stones so can he raise up praise from those children. (Matt. 3:9)
Luk 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Some Sunday mornings I stand in the pulpit and wonder how in the world can God bless what I have to say. My preparation is so fragile, my words so frail. My thoughts are so not His thoughts nor my ways His ways and yet I am often continually amazed how God can use my weak presentation to glean some glory to himself. 1Cor. 1:21 it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. I offer up a lot of foolishness when I preach but God finds a way to use that foolishness.
Who would have thought that God would use this master of comedy, this king of foolishness to render praise to himself? I’ve laughed many times at and with Steve Harvey but this is a different moment for him. If God can use the simple minds of children, if he can receive praise from inanimate objects, if he can use the frail, foolishness of preachers…then he can surely use you, or me, or Steve Harvey.
It truely is incredible how God can use the weakest to accomplish the most incredible things. From mighty rulers to the homeless man asking for work there is not one he can not use to the up building of his kingdom.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how God has just shown II Cor. 12:9-10 once more i don't think it's an accident.

I really enjoyed watching this video in class! It comforts me to know that God can even use me to bring glory to His name!
ReplyDeleteI truly appeciated this blog post and the video that we watched in class. It did bring a source of amazement to me how, I would say, the majority of the crowd cheered and agreed with him! It was such a surprise from what we see in this time. The part that strikes me with most interest in this blog is the part when you said that even when Jesus was being crucified that he still had his creation cry out. I never thought of it that way, I just thought of it as a symbol of what a mistake the jews and romans had made. This entry in your blog has brought me a sense of wonder and praise to God at the end of my day. Thank you. Exodus 15:2 "The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."
ReplyDeleteGod is amazing. I love knowing that HE can use anyone and anything to show His glory, including me! :)
