My four year old has been experimenting lately with disobedience. The issue is always a confrontation between his will and mine. Kameron would have no obligation to be obedient if there were no commands to obey. I'm perplexed when my theologian friends accuse me of legalism. We obey God, not because we think we are buying any favors from him, but because he has some very important commands, especially the ten he gave to Moses. Our motive for obedience is because we love him and we want his approval.

When Kameron thinks he may have done something to displease me he will turn his head upward and ask, "Are you happy, Daddy?" or "Are you disappointed, Daddy?" I often have to tell him that I am unhappy and disappointed. The heart that is determined to please God will often look up and ask, "Are you happy, God? Are you disappointed?" Isn't that what David was doing when his heart cried out in Psalm 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts."

Does God not discipline us in order to encourage us toward sanctification? How would we ever experience holiness were we never chastised? Why do so many Christians believe that this pursuit of holiness is an option? Does not God's word say, "Be holy, because I am holy?" (1 Peter 1:16). Are we not instructed to be "imitators of Christ"? (Eph. 5:1) God's directive to be holy is not an invitation, it’s a command.

The word 'holy' refers to a separation. There is so much confusion in the church today because so many people will claim to enjoy the gift of full salvation and still enjoy the fleshly pleasures of the world. Paul stated clearly in Romans that if you feed the flesh you will starve the spirit, if you feed the spirit you will starve the flesh.

I work every day with young people in a Christian school. They often anguish over the fact that they want to draw close to God but can't seem to. Sometimes the problem is that they don't want to deal with the separation factor. Drawing closer to God means separating from the things he hates. Holiness causes people to hate the things which steal the heart away from God. Romans 1:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world (we hate the things we once loved), but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (we now love the things we once hated). We often fail in our attempt to be holy because we give our heats to that which is against God.

When we are truly transformed we discover that "others can, we cannot." God has a different standard for those who would follow him. There are now some things you can't do, there are some things you cannot say, there are some places you cannot go.

When God asks us to "be holy" he is asking that we yearn for him. I want to yearn for God like David yearned for God. "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faint, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." Are we hungering for God or are we hungering for the trashy, filthy things in life that satisfy the flesh?

The bizczar world of Barack Obama:

The latest Czar to exit Obama's administration was Anita Dunn. She led the war on Fox News and declared the mass murderer of millions, Mao Zedong to be one of her favorite philosophers. I think declaring Zedong to be a philosopher is quite a stretch.

Jobs Czar Van Jones was a disgraceful appointee who readily admitted he "was a Communist".

Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein once wrote a book in which he claimed that the government, "owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone's permission." He is the same one who suggested that animals should be afforded the rights of humans and may be represented by lawyers. (Are these people on drugs?)

EEOC nominee, Chai R. Feldblum, endorsed polygamy and promoted same-sex marriage.

Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings, was founder of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network and was a strong activist for homosexuality, even teaching high school students how to perform various homosexual acts at Tufts University in 2000.

David Hamilton, Obama's appointee for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals was district judge when he prohibited the governing body in Indiana to mention the name of Jesus Christ in their invocations. Mentioning Allah was not prohibited.

Obama's chief lawyer at the State Department is Harold Hongju Koh. He openly advocates integrating international law into U.S. domestic law and making it binding on U.S. citizens.

Obama's replacement on the Supreme Court for David Souter was Sonia Sotomayer who declared that a "Latina woman" would make better judicial decisions than "a white male."

It’s a circus! It's a tragedy! It's a joke! It's a travesty! It's troubling! It's frightening!

Shouldn't the Democratic Party try to regain control from the far-left kooks who have hi-jacked their party?? Can the radical agenda of the far left faction be successful in leading the party in its bid for reelection in 1012??

I've heard many of my high school students speak of Zombies recently. I picked up a book from one of my student's desk today and asked, what is Zombie Armageddon? He informed me that a Zombie was like a living dead person, like a person without a soul. A Zombie would be a mindless person. According to Haitian Voodoo a Zombie yields control to a powerful sorcerer, or a bokor. It's not so much that they are living, it's just that they are not yet dead. They are the undead and they feed on the flesh of the living.

Have you ever looked into someone's eyes and seen the absence of spirit. Our society is full of abused children with no light in their eyes. Have you ever seen a woman who was repeatedly abused and her eyes are vacant? How about the drug addict, the alcoholic or the man who has competed but lost in his attempt to support his family? He has been beaten over and over again until he is broken and the light leaves his eyes. It's haunting to see.

Why are there so many people going off the deep end? Mothers kill their children. Men going postal in their places of work, guns blazing and all the while their eyes are empty and they show no emotion. I'll bet you have a neighbor who is so numbed by the difficulty of his life that you've never seen him smile. You probably work with someone who is robotic, no energy, no life, just going through the motions, zombie-like.

I've read of the powers of certain cult leaders: Jim Jones convinced his followers to drink the cool-aid. Were they hypnotized by his charisma. Charles Manson rots in a prison cell for murders he never committed. He brainwashed his followers to commit the horrendous murders. Sometimes these cult-like features can be observed in political leaders. Mussolini, il duce, was such a dynamic and charismatic orator, he was able to manipulate the masses. Adoph Hitler influenced men to build gas chambers and kill millions. Hypnotic and cultish, their zombie-like disciples seem willing to sacrifice their souls to their leader.

My student's zombie description caused me to make some political parallels. The cultish, violent behavior of the far-left liberal segment in our society is troubling. Many of our country's leaders are former members of cults like The Black Panthers, The Weathermen, Black Muslims and the Symbioniese Liberation Army. Their anti-American ideas were demonstrated decades ago through much violence and blood-letting. Now in power they have adopted different methods to spread the same ideology.

Is Barack Obama cult-like in his influence over a country filled with far-left political zombies? He is very eloquent in his speech. He is very charismatic. He is very subtle in sending signals. He refuses to salute the American flag. What message is he relaying? He elevates a conflict between a white cop and a black professor into a national discussion on racism. Is he sending a message? He sends a bust of Winston Churchill back to Britain. His family dresses in black and red, colors that represent communism and black nationalism, during his inauguration ceremony. Is he sending a message? He failed to send a limo to pick up Prime Minster Netanyahu of Israel. Is he sending a message?

It was so eerie to see Obama break the news about the shootings at Fort Hood. It's so confusing and confounding to see his expressionless eyes and the emptiness in his soul.

He caused a thrill to run up the leg of Chris Matthews. Journalists write articles fawning over the crease in his pants! Have you ever had someone say something to you and you knew they didn't mean it? Empty words. Fake emotion or no emotion at all. Television talking heads drone on and on about the messianic traits of Barack Obama but their words drop like hollow pellets from flat lips and their eyes have no spark, they seem spiritless and zombie-like. The robotic delivery of Keith Olbermann comes to mind.

There is something about our president that is pathetic and saddening. I don't hate him. I pity him. I pray often for him. He seems to be a man without a country. A man whose mission is undefined. A cowardly man who pawns the most important decisions off onto his subordinates or he just delays decisions indefinitely. How can he send more troops to Afghanistan without sending the wrong message to the people who matter most to him?

He seems like an empty soul. His followers are so hypnotized or so radically committed to the far-left dogmas that they've lost their ability to feel or even to think rationally. They are like famished spirits whose appetites are insatiable. In Tibet they call them "tormented beings who are starving to death from their inner nothingness."

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Is he sending a message as a world citizen that he has no loyalty to any one country thus qualifying himself for one-world leadership? Has his education at Harvard and his education under the teachings of Jeremiah Wright created in him such a hatred for his own country that he can't bring himself to honor her? Is he a closet Muslim who can't possibly honor America and send a message to his Muslim brothers worldwide that he is loyal to Mohammed and Islam? Is it a subtle message to socialist and muslim infiltrators within his own country that he supports them and their mission against America? Or is this just another breach in protocol, he just doesn't have a clue what he's suppose to do here and his handlers failed to tell him it would be a good idea on memorial day to display a little patriotism for your country????

I'm listening very carefully for someone in the Obama administration to use the dreaded 'T' word. That word seems to be going the way of the "N" word. If you use it, you are a narrow minded bigot, a true hater of all things Muslim and there is no place for you in this world.


Janet Napolitano, Obama's secretary of Homeland Security, carefully avoided the "T" word while doing an interview for the German news service, Spiegal. When asks questions about how the president planned to protect Americans from terrorists she referred to the dastardly deed done by such a perpetrator of evil as "man-made disaster". If this wasn't so tragic and dangerous it would be laughable.

The Apologist in Chief has chosen a course that will not offend anyone with designs to terrorize for fear of agitating them to conduct even more terrorism. This cowardly, politically correct approach to an enemy who seems to possess a stronger will to die than we have to live is an invitation to become even more aggressive in their attempts to annihilate us.

I don't know about anyone else reading this blog but I don't feel as safe as I did two years ago. Our enemies no longer tremble in fear before the greatest, strongest nation on earth. They have been emboldened by a man who refuses to call them by the name they deserve, by a president so unsure of himself that he's taken three months to answer the request of his generals for additional troops to Afghanistan. Don't think our enemies can't smell our fear. I've read reports that the morale of our men in Afghanistan is very low, no wonder. I can assure you that Obama's indecisiveness and his 'apology tour' , his kowtowing and low bowing to foreign heads of state has done nothing but improve the morale of our enemies.

Mr. Obama is the first President in American history to express remorse and allude to a belief that Nagasaki and Hiroshima were acts of evil on the part of the United States. In so doing he tramples on the graves of our WWII vets who sacrificed themselves for our liberty and freedom. Any decent human being would grieve over civilian casualties during a war. Name a war that was ever conducted where civilians did not die. But to assert that the U.S. is somehow evil while other nations get a pass on this issue is absurd and may indicate the lack of love this president has for his country and his heritage.

Obama's administration has floundered about to find any excuse for Mr. Hasan's actions at Fort Hood. True to their strategy, the "T" word has not been used nor will it ever be used. I am very sure, if our enemy wipes New York City off the map it won't be ascribed to ….."T"

I don't think most Americans are buying the idea that Hasan was just having a bad day. They don't think his actions were a result of a romantic breakup or a psychological breakdown. The average American still knows "T" when they see it. Most Americans believe Hasan was finally overcome by a conviction that he could not continue to claim to be a loyal Muslim without obeying direct commands that he often pondered in the Koran, (sura 2:19). We do not question why he killed 14 people at Fort Hood? We know why he did that! We question what the Obama administration, enslaved to political correctness, will do when the rest of the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world arrive at the same conclusion as Hasan!!

Obama's Improper Etiquette

Notice in the picture that follows that the Chinese Hu Jintao bows ever so slightly to Emperor Akihito  of Japan.  Akhito returns an ever so slight bow.

President Obama is breaks a standard rule in Japanese etiquette, never shake hands while conducting a bow.  The emperor is either very embarrassed or very amused.

And then there was the deep bow along with the bent knee to the Saudi monarch.  Obama is not very well coached...its embarrassing.
